Needle Type Needed: 5.5mm and 6.5mm, single-pointed needles
Material: Chunky or Bulky Yarn, weight 5 or 12 ply, Beret and Mitts together, 100g with 50g for contrast for small size, 150g with 50g contrast for larger size.
Tip: Look for yarn which matches the needle sizes, 5.5mm and 6.5mm. Unless you have very tight or very loose knitting yarn, you’ll be able to knit and use the finished item without going away from predicted size.
If in doubt, knit a larger size – children have a habit of growing very quickly!
