Single ribbing

If you want to create a stretchy band for a hat or cuff for a pair of mitts and double ribbing isn't quite tight enough, single ribbing is for you. Also known as 1x1 rib it is a simple repetition stitch pattern of knit 1, purl 1. As shown in the video, the row repeats change depending on whether you have an odd or even number of stitches on your needle.
