Tinking – How To Unravel Knitting One Stitch At A Time

February 25, 2020

We all make mistakes sometimes when we're knitting, and a lot of the time it's just a slip of the yarn, or that Netflix has caught your attention! Today I'm going to help you undo mistakes, unknit them, or tink. (tink = knit, backwards!) I first learnt to undo my knitting so long ago that it feels like something I've been doing my whole life. It's a great skill to embrace as it teaches you so much about how the stitches are formed and how they sit on the needle. Alongside that, being able to repair mistakes gives you the freedom to continue knitting within a few minutes... rather than waiting to see a friend or knitting guru at the yarn store and have them knit backwards for you. Taking it one stitch at a time is a much better idea than pulling your stitches off your needle and unraveling it all haphazardly. Let's make it easier and calmer! ?
