6 Ways To Get Paid To Knit

by Hannah Gilly

November 6, 2018

Last week I gave you some tips on how to start the plan for knitting for profit. The main idea was to knit up a few items and sell them.

It's a great way to fill up your purse with yarn money and gift the luxury of hand-knitted hats, scarves, mitts, jumpers, tea cosies to those who don't knit for themselves.

But did you realise that you could actually make money in different ways if you're a knitter?

You don't just have to sit and knit, then set about selling what you've finished. You can start the process from 'outside the box', and realise how needed knitters are, inside the industry as well as by those who don't knit themselves.

This week's video explores six ways you can make money from knitting. You might be surprised and quite excited by the idea. Earning money from your hobby doesn't all have to be about selling from a table at a craft fair.

Whichever of the six you might choose, be sure you're in charge of the process.

You may need to sign contracts or agreements, and that's always going to be the way if you're collaborating with others. Check them out carefully before you sign anything.

Just because others have signed them before doesn't mean you have to agree with them and sign too!

If you want to be in control and would rather knit up a collection of fingerless mitts to sell yourself, then take a look at last week's video where I give you 3 essential tips for selling your knitting.

If you'd like to find out  even more about selling your knits, I have an online course that's new this year, take a look at the details here.
