What I will say first is, take a look at the video, and let yourself pick one or two things max to explore knitting first.
The new knitting kits and patterns will be out later this week, so they may even sway your choices once you've had a look at your choices.
And of course, remember while it's great idea to knit up cotton in the summer, you can knit with it any time of year, and it's ideal if you have a wool allergy or would rather knit with vegan yarns.
