It's a knitters dream - knitting with 2 colours

Such beautiful hearts, stars, criss-crosses and dots can be created with this stranded knitting technique. Fair Isle knitting can be on the bucket list for a long time though, as it looks and feels so tough.

But take it slowly, one step at a time, pick a symmetrical pattern with only two colours and you're good to go.

As you can see with this pattern I like to start with something that only lasts 5 rows, because then you can breathe again and start knitting and purling with a plain colour for the rest of the project.

If you're not sure about being ready for fair isle knitting, these 7 tips from last week will help you decide whether you're ready, if not I'll give you a few tips on what to practice so you'll be knitting with 2 colours soon.

The Baby Hat Trio knitting kit and pattern is now available in the shop  without the Knit-Along. And you'll find a full tutorial to get started with the technique here.
