Mix-It-Up Blanket Knit-Along Autumn 2023

If you’re after a warm addition to your winter, and love the idea of mixing a few colours together this Autumnal knit-along will be perfect.

You can enjoy the finished blanket as a cosy wrap, a lap blanket or as a perfect snuggle cover-up for toddlers and children.

Easy to pick up and fun to knit, the stitch patterns give an eclectic mix of textures to your blanket squares. With 4 designs, repeated 3 times each in a mixture of four yarn shades, you’ll be motivated to knit one more square again and again.

The Mix-It-Up Blanket knit-along is ideal for intermediate knitters or beginners with 6-12 months knit and purl experience.

Knitted in Felted Tweed Aran, by Rowan, it’s a classic yarn that isn’t going anywhere, so this pattern is repeatable with many shades to match different occasions. It’s also ideal for gifting a few times as each knitted blanket can be individual and suited perfectly for the recipient.

Skills needed:
Knit and purl stitch
Increasing and decreasing (yes, we still do that even though we’re knitting squares!)
Beginners lace stitches
Beginners and intermediate cable skills

PLEASE NOTE:
You’ll be given access to the private knit-along forum and digital pattern when the doors open on 1st October 2022. This will provide access to the digital pattern and videos for your knit.

What to expect inside the Mix-It-Up Blanket knit-along

Between 2nd October and 17th December 2023, you’ll be given access to over seven weeks of conversation inside the Knit-Along community space.
Inside you’ll find video tutorials for the blanket, comment topics and weekly knitting prompts to guide and support your knitting.

You’ll feel no pressure to ‘keep up’ or ‘not get behind’ as we’ll be taking breaks from the forum towards the end of each month, so you can knit other items alongside the blanket and catch-up if you need to (life-happens!).

Hannah is there, inside the forum daily, to answer your questions, support with knitty mishaps, and cheer you on as you knit through the cowl.
(one-to-one access to Hannah at this level isn’t currently available in any other form, so if you’ve been hoping to get some extra help and encouragement from Hannah with your knitting, now’s your chance!)

Photos can be shared, along with your comments and questions, so we can share in everyone’s knitting experience. You can be as sociable as you choose; as an introvert myself I love communicating in small bites, but you can log-in as many times as you like each day and let us know how your knitting is going.

Knit-Along Online Forum open dates:

• Knit-Along blanket squares 1 & 2, Monday 2nd October – Sunday 22nd October (3 weeks, 3 weekends)
• Knit-Along blanket squares 3 & 4, Saturday 4th November – Sunday 19th November (2 weeks, 3 weekends)
• Knit-Along borders and finishing, Saturday 2nd December – Sunday 17th December  (2 weeks, 3 weekends)

The digital pattern will be available inside the Knit-Along space, along with a printable version with less colour.

How to join

Whether you pick the Mix-It-Up Blanket Knit-Along kit or pattern, you’ll be welcomed into the knit-along.

If you order a kit, your fabulous choice of yarn colour, along with the printed pattern, will be despatched in two parcels from 11th September and 6th October

If you choose just the digital pattern as you have the yarn easily accessible, the pattern will be available inside the Knit-Along community space. You’ll be given access during the weekend beginning Saturday 1st October.
