Substituting Yarn For A Knit-Along

by Hannah Gilly

September 20, 2022

When you're joining a knit-along you'll need yarn

But which one?
Can you find the yarn that the pattern requires, or will you need to get a substitute?

This will depend on where you live, how close you are to a yarn shop, which stores will deliver to your address. So many things can make a difference.

And of course there's the elephant in the room, budget, too.

I'll help you today with some substituting dos and don'ts; those necessaries that you'll need to fill when picking out yarn.

As there are necessaries, formalities that just have to be so when finding the right yarn for a particular pattern. Then there are things which aren't so obvious.
