Why You Have too Much Yarn

by Hannah Gilly

April 26, 2022

OK, so you have too much yarn in your stash

That's why we're decluttering!
But why is there so much?
Where does it come from, and why does it hang around?

Do you know the children's book, We're Going On A Bear Hunt, by Michael Rosen?

The children wade through grass, muddy puddles, a dark forest and various other obstacles. Each time they come across another obstacle they realise after a discussion,

"We can't go over it. We can't go under it. Oh no! We've got to go through it!"

So today, let's bring awareness to the biggest obstacles I've not only found in others during the five years of guiding knitters through the Yarn Declutter, but in myself too.

And we can start wading through the yarn, rather than avoiding it and trying to go around it.

The yarn declutter has been running all through April. If you'd like to receive the introductory email and the last email, sign up here

To catch up on previous weeks, see the full Yarn Declutter over in the Knit With Hannah Academy, featuring replays of previous years' live videos, bonus decluttering downloads and modules along with 24-7 life-time access. You could declutter in a weekend, three months or return and repeat in the Autumn with this!
